Our replica lapel pin and tie clip are reproduced from the original PT109 tie clip made for the 1960 presidential campaign. After the election, a revised version was created and personally distributed by President Kennedy to friends and supporters as token of appreciation.
Our replicas are designed by Ted Richards, who also designed the official medallions for the 1961 and 1965 presidential inaugurations. Mr. Richards recorded an oral history with the Museum in 2016.
