Unbox to find:

Items that explore John F. Kennedy's vision in 1960 for our nation's "New Frontier"  and the "uncharted opportunities of science, space, and innovation".

As President, in 1962, Kennedy challenged the nation to do the impossible and land a man on the moon before the end of the decade.

Our Space Race Box celebrates Kennedy, NASA, and the Apollo 11 mission in July 1969, that successfully landed three crew members on the moon, and brought them safely home again.

Included are enrichment activities created by our Museum educators to complement the box and stimulate at-home learning for ages 8 and up.

Topics for interactive learning include:

  • A month-long project tracking the phases of the moon
  • Our solar system--what is it made of?
  • Planets, comets, asteroids and more

More to find inside:

  • Apollo 11: First Men on the Moon coloring book with captions detailing all phases of the successful mission, 32 pages.
  • Buzz Aldrin: Reaching For the Moon, softcover, 40 pages.
