Poppies are worn on November 11th to commemorate the end of World War I on that date in 1918, and to remember those in the armed forces who have died in the line of duty.

In the member countries of the Commonwealth, November 11 is called Remembrance Day.

In the United States, November 11 is called Veterans Day, a day on which all veterans, living and deceased, are honored.  In the U.S., the poppy is also worn on Memorial Day—the last Monday in May.

Our poppy brooch is from St. Nicolas, a proud member of BAFTS (British Association of Fair Trade Suppliers) and supports the 10 Principles of Fair Trade, as set out by the World Fair Trade Organization.

Headquartered in London, St. Nicolas specializes in bespoke historical figure Christmas decorations, each handmade.

Each poppy brooch is handmade for The Sixth Floor Museum at Dealey Plaza.
Brooch measures 1.75 inches in diameter and is presented on a 3 x 4 inch informational card.
