Buell Wesley Frazier was a nineteen-year-old order filler at the Texas School Book Depository when he was thrust into history by the events of November 22, 1963. In addition to training new employee Lee Harvey Oswald a month prior to the assassination, Frazier occasionally gave Oswald a ride to work from Irving whenever Oswald stayed with his estranged wife at the home of Ruth Paine. Frazier drove Oswald to the Depository building on the morning of November 22, 1963, with Oswald’s brown paper package – which, according to investigators, contained his Mannlicher-Carcano rifle – in Frazier’s backseat.

This conversational autobiography explores Buell Frazier’s life before, during and after the events of the Kennedy assassination, including his experiences at The Sixth Floor Museum over the years. Frazier recorded a lengthy two-part video as part of the Oral History Project in 2002 and returned to the Museum for a memorable public program in 2013.

Mr. Frazier most recently shared his memories during a special program to commemorate the 58th anniversary of the assassination on November 22, 2021. View the full program here.
