Historian Mark Updegrove, president and CEO of the LBJ Foundation and former director of the LBJ Presidential Library, has authored several books on the American presidency, including Indomitable Will: LBJ in the Presidency (2012). In his new portrait of President John F. Kennedy, Incomparable Grace: JFK in the Presidency, Updegrove explores the Kennedy White House in unflinching detail, from the young president’s early missteps to his leadership in confronting Cold War threats and navigating challenges at home.
A longtime friend of The Sixth Floor Museum, author Mark Updegrove took part in a 2022 program to discuss this book as well as a 2011 panel discussion about the presidential legacies of Kennedy and Johnson, which may be viewed in full on the Museum’s YouTube channel.
