The keel for this aircraft carrier was laid a few months after the assassination in August 1964. It was christened by Jacqueline and Caroline Kennedy on May 27, 1967, two days before what would have been President Kennedy’s 50th birthday. Decommissioned in 2007, the USS John F. Kennedy was the last conventionally powered aircraft carrier built for the U.S. Navy.
Above the bill, our adult navy blue cap is embroidered in grey and gold with the profile image of the carrier and USS John F. Kennedy CV-67.
Our Museum website, jfk.org, is embroidered in grey on the back of the cap, above the adjustable Velcro tab.
