The 40th Annual White House Christmas Ornament honors our 35th President, John F. Kennedy.

Jacqueline Kennedy personally selected American artist Aaron Shikler in 1970 to provide the posthumous character study, Oil Portrait of John F. Kennedy, which serves as Kennedy's official White House portrait. Hanging in the White House today, the portrait is said to symbolize Kennedy's unfinished presidency. Shikler said he painted him with his head bowed "because I wanted to show him as a president who was a thinker…I hoped to show a courage that made him humble."

The legacy of President John F. Kennedy lives on through the many causes he championed--space and technology, civil rights, arts and culture, volunteerism, and more.

With a gold textured finish and a satin ribbon for hanging, the ornament measures 3 X 3.5 inches and is packaged in a 5" x 6" x 1" gift box
