Delta Epiphany: Robert F. Kennedy in Mississippi chronicles and contextualizes Sen. Robert F. Kennedy’s brief yet significant visit to the Mississippi Delta in 1967 as part of a Senate subcommittee investigation of poverty programs. Supplemented by nearly forty photographs, the book examines the profound impact that this hours-long trip had on Bobby Kennedy, including his devotion to domestic issues during his fateful run for the presidency in 1968. Author Ellen B. Meacham, an oral history subject, participated in a public program at The Sixth Floor Museum on June 18, 2018. The recording can be viewed in full on the Museum’s YouTube channel.
